State Farm Insurance Company recently released its "On the Move" widget for Android users. It helps prevent distracted driving from text messaging. Although it is only available for Android users at this time they are considering offering it for other mobile phones in the future.
Here is some info about the On the Move widget from the State Farm website:
"On Monday, August 23rd, State Farm Insurance Company will release the insurance industry's first Android widget aimed at combating the problem of distracted driving. The new "On the Move" widget allows Android smartphone users to compose and preload customized messages that can be sent as automated responses to incoming text messages."
"With the service, instead of reading and responding to text messages while driving or otherwise occupied, smartphone users can activate the service and let the widget respond for them. The service is free to anyone with an Android smartphone as part of State Farm's updated Pocket Agent for Android™ application."

you MUST BE A STATE FARM CUSTOMER FOR THIS TO WORK
This is a smart idea. I think that the cell phone companies should pick up on it and put it on their phones. That way, drivers will worry less about missing a call and hopefully people will drive smarter.
