A New Low: Dad Tries to Collect Life Insurance on Living Child
Tuesday December 16, 2008
I hate to imagine how his child will feel about this when he grows up. According to the www.dailyrecord.com, "A Newark resident pleaded guilty this morning to trying to collect $25,000 in life insurance benefits in 2006 by pretending that his 8-year-old son, who lived in North Carolina, had died of asthma.
Anthony Myers Sr., 35, admitted this morning in state Superior Court, Morristown, to trying to defraud State Farm Insurance Co. in Mount Olive between March 21 and May 10, 2006, through his bogus claim. He never collected any money as his ploy was discovered."

Wow! I’m sure glad he didn’t collect his money because it wasn’t his in the first place!
I recently read a book about Insurance Scams , by John Patrick Lamont. He draws upon fourteen years of experience working within the life insurance industry to write his novels. His book 1 of 3 “The Worst Kind of Lies” reads more truth than fiction.
I”m really looking forward to see what books 2 and 3 have in store!
You can never be too careful…
