Merck recently won approval to market the Gardisal vaccine to boys for the prevention of genitil warts in boys. Before the approval for boys, the Gardisal vaccine was only approved for girls to prevent certain types of cervical cancers in girls. It is a contraversal vaccine since it is new and can be used on girls and boys as young as 9.
According to www.bloomberg.com, those who choose to get the vaccination or choose to have their child vaccinated Merck has expanded "a patient rebate and dose replacement program to help cover the cost of the vaccine for 19- to 26- year-old men without health insurance and those with private insurance with partial or no coverage for the shots, according to the company's statement."
