Preventing Water Damage Can Save Money and a Headache

Tuesday June 16, 2009
Calling your insurance agent to report a water damage claim can not just cost you money (your deductible and possible higher insurance fees) but can be a hassle. Although there are some types of water damage that are just unavoidable, some is and often times homeowners don't take the steps to prevent the avoidable water damage.

Two easy things that homeowners can do to prevent avoidable water damage to their home is to clean out their gutters and take care of their trees. By cleaning out the gutters you will keep moisture and water build-up away from your roof and by cutting down any dead trees and pruning your dead branches, you will be preventing a possible tree or limb from falling on your roof and puncturing it.
