Obama's Reasons for Optimism: A Move Towards a National Health Insurance Program?

By , About.com GuideFebruary 24, 2009

Obama feels there are many reasons for optimism and one of them is that he has plans to fix the national health care crisis. He outlined some details in his campaign with the Obama health care issues page. His "COBRA Stimulus Package" has been a first step in helping America with healthcare, but of course, only a band-aid.

What do you think? Can Obama achieve a national health care system or universal health care program similar to Canada and other industrialized nations and if so, should he? Please, this is an important issue and I would like to encourage you to to add your comments to this blog post.

I don’t know what the right answer is to the health insurance problem but I do know that we don’t need more government control in our lives.

Dee & Bobby Jo,
Do you REALLY prefer the all-to-common alternatives – i.e., profit-driven corporation control of doctor-patient healthcare decisions?

Our President has already selected the members of the Health Committiee (which will deciede who gets the ration health service). The members named are all non-practicaling
M.D.’s. Another backroom job without any advice from others.
