i was told by a friend about the mission of mrecy event in my area . i have dental insurance but still could not afford th treatment i needed due to the cost of the co pays . i attended the the clinc . which was held in newton iowa and got 9 teeth takin out at no cost to me but the gas to get there . and would of been able to get dentuers if i would of been there on the first day of the event . i have done some searching on the web and found they have these events in most areas once a year . the care i got was wonderfull and there is no income or insurance limits . to find out if there is an event coming to your area simply do a search for a mission of mercy in your state . i hope this is helpful to those of you in pain and in need or care but who simply cannot afford it .

For people posting asking about getting teeth fixed, after damage from domestic violence. There is a program through the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, its called “Give Back A Smile”. You can call 800.773.GBAS (4227).
Instructions–
Domestic violence survivors who have suffered dental injuries from abuse can contact the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) by calling the GBAS national toll-free number, 800.773.GBAS (4227). All applicants must apply for the program through the NCADV.
After calling that number, you are screened and they will send you to a cosmetic dentist who can help fix your teeth for free.

Hello my name is cassie, teeth run in my famuilym. I made the biggest mistake ever and used drugs such as meth and crack for about 7 years. Hello, I am a 42 year old Lady, who has bone loss in my gums, I had to have one of my front teeth pulled because of receeding gums and now my top front tooth is loose and I have to keep “pushing” it back up. It not only hurts, but I simply cannot bite, chew and I often choke just trying to get nutrients into my body. I have a under bite which makes things more difficult for me. Dr. ?, my name is steve and I’m a 29year old male…and I have very bad teeth. If I had to grade on a scale from 1 (worst) to 10 (best), I’d say my teeth are a 2. To be honest, I have not seen a dentist since I was around the age of 13. To make a long story short, my teeth have gone downhill ever since then, all the way up to today, where I have a handful of cracked/missing teeth. As you can imagine, the pain, at times, has been intense. I’ve always tried to manage with IB Preufen, which has worked about 75% of the time. With my teeth being the way that they are, it has had a severely negative impact on my confidence, and overal outlook on life. I try to hide my teeth as much as possible, but I know people see them often. I’ve reached a point in my life, where I desperately want to asdress my problem. I simply do not know where to begin. With all the cracked/missing teeth that I have, I can only assume I’m headed for implants. I still have quite a few teeth that I believe do not need to be extracted, but just cared for, so I don’t think I’d be looking at dentures. I don’t have insurance at the moment, and won’t gain covereage until at least October of this year, so I’m not sure what sort of bills I’d be looking at either. HOw would you advise that I get in touch with a local dentist and/or oral surgeon to explain my situation? What other advice would you be able to offer? My daughter is 23 years old and has very bad teeth. Four of her teeth were replaced when she was younger with tomporary caps which have recently fell out. Brandi went to school for dentistry hoping she could land a job and get some type of help with her dental care for it is so expensive. She did get a job working at at a dental office but the Dr. was so rude to her employers that it really discouraged Brandi. She now does not want to be seen outside of her home or to socialize with family. She has a two year old daughter and she really stresses over her appeareance so she will no take the baby out in fear of the stares and questions she will get. I and my husband are in need of dental work. I am recently unemployed due to knee problems and my husbands job doesnt include dental insurance. Please…can someone help! I’m in dire need of dental help, the pain is getting to be more than I can bare. An abusive marriage has left me with broken teeth, missing teeth and a broken upper partial. I have tried super gluing my partial, but now the wires that wrap around my back teeth to hold plate in is now sticking into my gums and will not stay in place when I try eating or talking. Hello, I have End Stage Liver Disease, with alot of the complications like Type 2 Diabetes, Pulmonary Hypertension, Portal Varices just to list a few and i will need a Liver Transplant and if my Pulmonary Hypertension gets worse I may need a Heart and or Lung Transplant. So I am separated from my husband and I am on SSI the money isnt enough to even live on just a lil over $400 a mo.. I am in desperate need for dental care. My Liver Specialist said I need to take care of all my teeth before I get a Transplant he said I cant even have one tooth that has decay. I feel badly, reading all of these comments. There are almost 60 of them. I as well have a few issues with my teeth. I had three fillings when I was about nine. That was my first visit to the dentist. Over the years, my teeth got progressively worse. My mother would never take me to the dentist. Now I have a tooth that has rotted out almost entirely, which would need to be cut out of my gum. There’s another tooth below it that is rotting pretty badly around it’s filling. It needs to be removed as well. Just recently, though, I’ve been feeling pain from another tooth on the other side of my mouth. I’m eighteen years old, and I don’t even know where to begin to get my teeth fixed. I need help. I feel badly asking for help, knowing that there are people who have it much worse than I, but it has been such a huge burden on my shoulders, I just feel like I have to.

I am writing this because I am in desperate need of dental work. I am 30-years-old and am unemployed. I am a single mother of a 10-year-old. I was an violently abused woman, until I finally got him out of my life. Then it was up to me to raise my 6 boys, 2 are now in college. Then a few yrs ago I was also in a bad car accident (broadsided) & am now disabled, yet still have a job, but it only pays me less than $14,000 a year. which leaves me struggling to even pay the rent & feed the kids. I went to a dentist over 5 yrs ago and he started working on my teeth, had me get a loan off to cover the costs. Then he told me he would finish the dental work when I had paid off the loan with CareCredit. I went back when I paid it all off, (plus the CareCredit loan for my son’s braces) only to find that the dentist had left the state soon after he got all the money from CareCredit, moved to Las Vegas. So I’m out over $9,000 and buried in other medical bills.
The thing about teeth is you can’t eat with out them. I ‘choke’ on more food than you can imagine. And the pain from one tooth remnant to the next is insanely painful – all the time! And I can’t get a better paying job without a halfway decent smile. I never smile anymore. Of course, with all the pain, it would be hard to find anything to smile about anyway. And my kids don’t deserve to have a mother who always seems angry, ‘cuz the pain makes me sound that way. I have wisdom teeth that need to be taken out that are now pushing my other teeth and causing major jaw pain. I also need a deep clean and whitening done to get a stain line off my front teeth. I am unemployed and haven’t been able to find work so i have no money. I also have a two year old son who could use his first dental check up. Someone please help i don’t know what else to do and the wisdom teeth are starting to become a health issue.

I have gone to College of dentistry in NYU and have had almost all my molars removed and lost one of my front teeth. I live my life everyday having to look at my wife who was born with no enamel on her teeth. Her teeth are so bad now its just unreal. Everyday she is in tears because of the pain. She has both sides of her mouth that have abscessed teeth. It drains all the time. It causes a big problem for me to kiss her. Story much the same as several people here; then I got an HMO dental and guess what they are nothing but a rip off they won’t do anymore then an x-ray once or twice a year and some twit looks in your mouth then they give you a referal that they know is a joke because HOLD ON are you ready for this? The referal doesn’t take your HMO and these twits already know this but why would they care they have made their money from the x-rays and the twit looking in your mouth but doing nothing. It is all a rip off and I am so sick of the fact that if I steal something I would go to jail but they can rip off Americans and that is all right and they don’t go to jail. I am a 35 year old single, unemployed mother of three. I need 9 extractions and a full upper denture, lower partial. So far, every dentist I have called charges over 100$ per extraction. Even for basic, non-surgical extractions. I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled when I was 12 by a regular dentist. I only have 1 molar and 1 eye tooth that need pulled. All the rest are front teeth that I could pull myself if I had some Novocaine and dentist tools. I live in the Tri-cities (WA) and am new to the area. I went to a dental office the other day and they told me some BS about needing surgery on my palate and sinus augmentation. I can only afford 3-5000 total, and would like a dentist who isn’t just trying to make a buck. I have chronic dental infections and am seriously concerned about having cardiac trouble from it, and I am in pain every single day of my life. I have taken more penicillin and augmentin in the last year than any one person should ever take. I am on medicaid, which doesn’t cover any dental in my region. At the end of my rope…fyi, I have never done meth. My parents were irresponsible and I have bad dental genetics and had magnesium sulfate with my second child. I am 20 year old femaile, and cannot believe how bad my teeth have gotten. I have 5 decaying teeth, and many cavities. 2 of my decaying teeth are pretty much completely gone. I only got pieces from each tooth left. I cant even smile or you see my decayed tooth on the bottom. It’s so embarrassing. Im constantly in pain. It’s horrible. I can’t eat right.. I,m a single mother.I was so greatful when I got a job with the State of Oklahoma. I thought This was the big door I was waiting for to open. I was finally going to get good insurance so I would Be able to get my teeth fixed and I was going to finally be able to get a new but used car and I was finally going to be able to get my daughters the things they really needed. There is a 6 month probation time and I was 2 months away from having state benifits.Thats when I became realy sick and found out I had stage four breast cancer. My whole life fell apart.I had to leave my job.I went from making 17 hundred dollars a month to collecting 640 dollars a month from ssi.All my savings that I had worked so hard to save I had to use to support me and my girls. I need help with what teeth I have left. I brush them and floss, but they are all in declay. I hate to smile anymore. It’s from all the dyes that I rec’ from MRI and test after test with chemicals. I just left the ENT and told me that I had TMJ that is what was causing the pain in my ear. Said that I needed to get a brace made by a dentist. Well that is easier said then done. Looking for free clinic to help with my adult daughters teeth. They are in poor condition and she has suffered for over a year now in pain. I’m on disability with Multiple Sclerosis and unable to help her with expenses. She was married and covered under insurance, but her husband left her for younger woman and took her adopted child and left state. She is trying to get back on feet, but applying for any and everything she can find available. She is an educated teacher, but our area is not hiring and she is having to live with me.

I was diagnosed with lupus a few years ago, and since then I have been having so many problems with my teeth. I have a few teeth that really need fixing right now, and have been taking tons of advil every day for the pain, even though I know it’s bad for me. I always had nice teeth & dental Ins & went faithfully to the dentist. When my husb developed M.S. i had to leave work to take care of him. There wasn’t money enough for me after his medical bills and we had a child. Other things more important. I sure wish I could go back in time. I would have found some way to go to the dentist! I have a few teeth on bottom with holes showing at the gums, same wi some on top, but not as bad, I have one whole tooth that has been super glued up into the gum for over a year and two others wi pieces broke off that i have replace also wi super glue.
