Are you an Allstate Customer? Give Us Some Feedback!

Ouch! A recent press release from the American Association for Justice doesn't beat around the bush when they express how bad Allstate is for consumers. According to their study, which was put together from a "comprehensive investigation of thousands of legal documents and financial filings," Allstate ranked at the top of the list. “While Allstate publicly touts its ‘good hands’ approach, it has instead privately instructed its agents to employ a ‘boxing gloves’ strategy against its policyholders,” said American Association for Justice CEO Jon Haber. “Allstate ducks, bobs and weaves to avoid paying claims to increase its profits.”

Of course, Allstate is a huge company and they have many satisfied customers. Are you one of those? Or, are you in agreement with the above study and feel Allstate deserves to get the number one spot for the worst insurance company? Let us know... leave your comments to this blog and give us your experience with Allstate.

Basicly its like this… I switched to allstate because they gave me a great quote but 2 months later i got a bill for about $200 more a year than what they quoted and it took me about 2 months to get a reason out of them on why, and when i finally got the reason it was some bs reason they said after reviewing my last policy with geico that i was high risk so they had to raise the priemium. I’ve only had one no fault accident(slid on ice and hit a tree) in the last 18 years and 1 ticket from about 18 years ago. They should not have quoted me a price and then change it later for no reason

I’ve enjoyed Allstate. I’ve been with them for about 2 years now… I have my auto and car insurance. I (my husband and I) have had two at fault accidents – they paid all that they said they would and my rates have NEVER gone up (Accident Forgiveness). I have a good relationship with my agent! I maintain contact with her, and send Christmas cards and “thank yous.” I don’t know if that makes a difference.

Also, insurance companies will quote you one price, and then issue another. That’s normal. Quotes must be sent to underwriting, and that’s the person who reviews what you said (and didn’t say) when asking for a quote and accesses your risk. Your risk is compared to what the insurance company is prepared to handle. It’s different from every insurance company!
Now, I wish they had told you up front – your quote was quoted lower than it would be issued for, so that way you would know and could re-evaluate!

I have had auto insurance with Allstate since 1975. I have filed 4 claims during this time and all have been taken care of with no problems at all. In addition there were no increases in my insurance rates. I have had homeowners insurance with them for the past 3 years but haven’t had to file a claim but would hope they would be as good on the homeowners policies as they are on auto insurance.

I just recived a quote in the mail from Allstate. They had all of my information correct, all of my requested coverages correct and everything was equal or better than my current house insurance. the annual premium was quoted at ~$350. I am paying ~$780 for my current insurance. So, I called Allstate to switch over. They said the mail qiuote was an estimate and they would have to re-run the numbers. They did so and came back with a quote of almost $900 with significantly lower liability coverage. My insurance rating is as close to perfect as can be, I’ve never had a claim, so essentially their by mail quote was either 1) a false advertising gimick or 2) a blatant lie.

I’m an Allstate customer and they have been very loyal and helpful so long as I’ve been paying my own insurance.

Allstate’s customer service is the worst. I was hit by a client of Allstate’s and their claims person is horrible. I have never dealt with such a horrible attitude and unhelpful customer service. I assume that the claims person is mad that his client caused such a huge accident. He’s been trying to cut corners from day 1, I will NEVER shop for insurance with them. If that’s the way they treat people, I would rather pay more and have more friendly and better customer service.

I have Allstate and feel bad for anyone else who has Allstate. The customer service was awful and when I tried to file a claim they completely blew me off and basically said “it sucks to be you.” I would NEVER in a million years recommend Allstate to anyone.

my life was dastroied that day, my quality of life was taken away,my abbility to work was taken away! I live in pain, it herts to moove. I suffer from nerve damage.
I concider my self your victome becuse if allstate raely did the rite thing some one would have saw that the sharif did a cover-up!! the accadent report was only one half of one page and they blamed me for getting run-over!
I had aluyer but I was told Allstate would rather spend a millon dollers fiting me and hiding the trooth than do the rite thing!!!
I wish that i was killed that day! not only do i live in pain im $250,000 in debt, I can’t work, I get hounded by bill colelters, and I dicraced by the comunity! and if that was not bad enenoff i have nite-maresoff that day! flash-backs!
It’s too late to sew,but I want to know how can you clame to do the rite think? instead Allstate should brag about how you dafend your clients even when they ane in the wrong! the world is full-off crimenals, they would want an insurence that hides the trooth!

Three months ago when I bought a new home I purchased insurance with All State Newnan Ga. First I was charged $60 a month more than quoted on the phone I was told it was because I couldnt prove I had insurance three years ago. I explained to my agent it was because my policy three years ago was with my ex husband and under his name. She told me if I could get proof of this they would lower my rate to what was quoted. I spent weeks talking to my insurance company from over three years ago and after many phone calls and looking through endless files I was able to get something from my old insurance company proving I never had a lapse in coverage. Still my rate didnt go down. Then I cancelled it and went with another company, only they didnt cancel when my request was made they waited until after my policy was due again and deducted another payment from my checking account causing me to overdraw my account. After that they had the nerve to send me another bill for $30 I have no idea for what. I would ask everyone who is treated badly by all state to file a complaint with your states insurance commissioner.

Worst Insurance Company

You are not in Good Hands with Allstate..

Professionalism: OK
Customer Relations: Awful

They employ a “boxing gloves” approach to claim handling & also lowball you when they have to process claims (No loopholes in contract to deny claim). My parked car was hit by an Allstate insured and it took them weeks to assign fault. They attempted to pay me off 40% of the repair price of my vehicle, which I obviously rejected. I finally turned my car and concerns over to my insurance, paid my deductible, and my insurance was reimbursed from Allstate along with my deductible. LONG process…

Their policies are very reasonable because they deny-deny-deny claims. If you want real coverage, I suggest you go to a competitor and maybe even pay a bit more. They denied all 3 minor leak claims that I have in the past 7 years. They were also very rude & thoughtless throughout the process.

Feel free to email me with questions on experiences. I have had Allstate homeowners for 7 years because of the price, but again they will not cover any of your issues if you need them.

I’m leaving Allstate, and am going to be paying an extra $100 a year with State Farm. But I refuse to use Allstate ever again. Initially they will say and do anything to get your business. But then when it’s time for renewal, they switch the terms and conditions every chance they get. The written policy will state one thing, and the agent will say something else, who will then call home office, who says something completely different. No one over there has an idea what they are doing. Every three days I get an email with a different quote.

Thank God I have yet to file a claim, just the hassle of getting my premium billed correctly is utter nonsense. Save yourself the headache and find a different insurance carrier.

I was with allsate untill about a month ago. and we renewed with nation wide. and didnt renew our policy with allstate. so now they renewed the policy and are trying to make us pay for it. now we have to jump through stupid hoops to cancel. and their going to try and send it to collection and hurt our credit. so yes allstate sucks!

I had a water damage claim at the beginning of April of 2011. Allstate came out and assessed the damage right away. However, the construction company that was hired to replace my flooring has still not completed the job and it is now the middle of July of 2011. Not only that, they caused another water leak with the water heater and what little they did do has now been ruined as well. My house has been upside down since April and I am going to have to resort to filing a lawsuit. When I called Allstate about this situation, they kept sending me to other people with the excuse that it wasn’t their department.

I’ve never dome this before.

Just saw your Raccoon/Mayhem commercial. LOVED it. Never appreciate commercials, but the Allstate Mayhem commercials crack me up. I never fast forward through them.

Thanks for spending money on creative people!
