Ready for Green Home Insurance Coverage?

Tuesday July 8, 2008
Show your support of environmentally friendly building practices by adding "green" coverage to your home! According to www.businessweek.com, "Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. is targeting environmentally conscious homeowners with a new insurance product that would cover the cost of rebuilding a home to green building standards."

This coverage is currently only available in a handful of states by Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. but they will soon roll it out in more. It will only cost about $25 additional per policy so it is a great way to show that you support "green" homes and at the same time be covered to rebuild green if needed. Worried about the $25 extra? I bet with the Homewoners Savings Checklist you could find several ways to shave off $25 from your policy to cover the "green" coverage!

Your insurance company does not offer "green" coverage? Then ask them! If they get enough people interested they will realize it is something they will want to offer.
