Buying your insurance online can be a big jump for some. It is like the land line vs. cell phone thing. Do you know how many people keep their land line but never use it? They just have always had it and just feel like they should. Well, the same thing happens with insurance. Many feel like they have always went to a local agent and just won't try to buy their insurance online. Local agents are great, don't get me wrong but for some people they can be served just as well online.
So, if you have been wanting to buy your insurance online but need more of a nudge, then maybe knowing which online companies rate high among users would be helpful. Now you can know because the Customer Respect Group, "an international research and consulting firm that focuses on how corporations treat their online customers, today released findings from its First Quarter 2008 Online Customer Respect Study of Auto Insurance Industry Websites." So, who came out on top? Sorry for all you gecko fans... Progressive beat out the gecko and came out on top but GEICO was only a margin behind.
When you say that some people are best served by online insurance companies I presume you were talking about service only and not rates because it is the only way to get a low rate on your car insurance is to get the local agents to compete for your business.
An online site can only give out whats in there hard drive and they will never put the low quotes in the hard drive.
When local insurance agents compete for your business you win.
