Are You At Risk of Dying Because You Don't Have Health Insurance?

Follow me on:

A lot of studies say yes. One recent study in WV, reported by The Charleston Gazette, estimates "210 working-age West Virginians die prematurely each year because they don't have health insurance."

Why does this happen? Well, according to that study and many other, people who don't have health insurance forgo preventative treatments. Also, people without insurance often don't have the same access to health care compared to people who have insurance. For example, a lady in WV that did not have health insurance died because she was "waiting for a Charleston pharmacy to open. The woman, who had several chronic illnesses, had received a voucher to purchase medications."

Don't put yourself at risk of being one of these statistics. If you don't think you can find or afford health insurance check out this article: Help! I Need Affordable Health Insurance
