Spring Cleaning? What About Home Accident Anytime-Cleaning Projects?

Wednesday March 21, 2007

Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas that is deadly, and an unexpected fire can be devastating to your family and home. Here are some suggestions to help eliminate the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and fires from your home:

1. Make sure there are carbon monoxide and fire alarms on every floor of your home, near your furnace, in your kitchen, and near every bedroom.

2. Check all appliances and heating elements to make sure they are in good working order. Be aware of funny smells, soot, or heating flames that look different than normal and do not use the appliance until a professional has checked it.
