Supplemental insurance, such as what Aflac offers, pays a cash benefit to the insured. The amount of cash and how it is paid out depends on the supplemental health insurance plan or policy. I am an AFLAC representative – I just wanted to mention that most people do not use their life insurance, disability, homeowners insurance etc – but the costs of fighting a serious accident or illness often put a tremendous strain on people’s finances.
Medical events are one of the leading causes of bancruptcy in this country, and that is for people with health insurance.
Most of our products cost less than a pack of cigarettes or a couple of cups of Coffee.
My last word, health insurance companies will never write you a check in the event of an illness -AFLAC will.

I agree with the comment above by Jeffery Sockand to add to that I don’t know about the bankruptcy issue but I got hurt at work and the only bill that workmans comp has paid so far is for my medical expenses(and not all of those are paid yet)If I had purchased accident insurance I wouldn’t be worried today about how my bills were going to get paid now. It would have been well worth the few dollars per paycheck. It could be months before workmans comp pays me anything, if ever.I do not believe I will ever be able to do my previous job again and I am studying for my state insurance license. I can’t wait indefinitly for a paycheck.
