Parents...do you have your Life Insurance?

Monday May 22, 2006
I do!

I believe one of the most important insurance purchases a parent can make is life insurance. If you are a parent, or if anyone else depends on you financially, you need life insurance.

Life insurance is so inexpensive, especially for the benefit.

So, all you wives out there, how about purchasing a life insurance policy for dad this father's day? Need to know how much? Check out Life Insurance for Parents

I read your article about life insurance for parents with interest but need to comment on using a factor of 7x income to determine the amount of coverage needed.

Using an arbitrary number such as 7x income will result in underinsuring the majority of individuals, especially young parents.

a better method for determining the true need is to perform a needs analysis to reflect both debt, future expenses, and loss of income.

For young parents, the amount of insurance needed will end up being closer to the 15-20% of their annual income.

At http://www.lifeinsuranceadvisors.com we perform a free needs analysis for anyone who requests it as part of the life insurance buying process. Thank you.

Sincerely,
